“Sounds and Symbols: Building Community across Disciplines” / “Sonidos y símbolos: Construyendo una comunidad a través de las disciplinas” / “Sons e símbolos: Construindo uma comunidade através das disciplinas”

The Symposium Committee is pleased to invite all interested graduate students, scholars and professionals to bstracts and panel proposals for the 22nd Annual Graduate and Professional Symposium. This year the Symposium Committee is honored to welcome Dr. José Ignacio Hualde from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Dr. Vincent Barletta from Stanford University as keynote speakers.

As we strive to build community across disciplines, the Symposium Committee would like to encourage the submission of papers and panels on a variety of topics and disciplines that explore Language, Literature, Linguistics, and Culture. Submissions are invited on all periods and areas of Iberian, Spanish-American, Latin American, and Luso-Brazilian Literatures and Cultures, Linguistics, and Pedagogy. The committee will also consider panel proposals for sessions organized around a specific topic. Short films and creative pieces authored by the presenters themselves are also welcome.
